Cafeparazone 500 mg and salbactum 500 mg injectable

It belongs to third generation cephalosporin antibiotic This medication is used for treating bacterial infection and it can be administered in patients in the form of injectables. This injection is used in the treatment of  urinary tract infections, lower respiratory tract infections, sepsis and meningitis.

Uses of Cafeparazone 500 mg and salbactum 500 mg injectable

• Gynaecological infections
• Skin structure
• Bacterial septicaemia
• Urinary tract infection
• Respiratory tract infection

Side Effects of Cafeparazone 500 mg and salbactum 500 mg injectable

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Dizziness
• Seizures
• Itching
• Headache
• Chills
• Rash
• Bleeding

Dosage form

• Recommended dose is 1-2 mg twice a day.
• If severe infections, dose 3-4 gm thrice a day.

Dosage form for several other diseases such as: -

• Endometritis- 1 to 2 g IV until 48 hours
• Febrile Neutropenia- 1 to 2 g IV until 12 hours
• Intraabdominal Infection- 1 to 2 g IV until 12 hours up to 7-14 days
• Joint infection-1 to 2 g IV until 12 hours up to 3-4 weeks
• Pelvic inflammatory disease-1 to 2 g IV until 12 hours until 48 hours
• Peritonitis-1 to 2 g IV until 12 hours up to 7 days
• Pneumonia – 1 -2 grams IV every 12 hours for 7-12 days
• Pyelonephritis1 to 2 g IV until 12 hours for 12-14 days
• Bacteraemia- 2 g IV every 12- 14 hour

Drug interactions

• Aminoglycoside’s antibiotics
• Loop diuretics
• Anticoagulants
